Integrity is Everything

In doing some on-line research today, I stumbled upon a must read, understand, memorize, and live by quote...

You can read more here, but the core I felt you must grasp today is:

In any relationship integrity is the most important attribute.

"In looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities:
  • integrity, intelligence, and energy.

And if they don't have the first, the other two will kill you." - Warren Buffet

Are You Too Busy?

As you walk through your day today, are you too busy to really see the people and things that are around you?
I hope not.
Life is too short. Pause right now and look and listen. What is really important and what is simply a time filler? It's vitally important that you learn to distinguish between the two...

Pity Party

As you spread your wings and experience life as an adult, you will be pushed to your limits. School, work, family, and fun will stretch your physical limits. Resist the temptation to complain about how hard things are, or how exhausted you find yourself. Make wise choices. Prioritize your free time and social time to ensure you take care of yourself.

No one likes to be around a whiner. If you are tired, be thankful for the opportunities you've been given. If you are struggling at school or work, be thankful for the opportunity to grow.

Bottom line: adulthood comes at a physical cost at times. As I write this post, my college freshman has been at school and work since 5:00 this morning and is not due home until after midnight. He's tired. But it's a good tired. As an adult, we sometimes have to push way passed our outer limits. Every one of us has to at times. Just don't whine about it. It will just isolate you from people in the long run. No one likes to be around a whiner. Be thankful instead!

Star Eggs

It's the little things that make a difference.
Go to a thrift, or second hand store. You are looking for some great medium sized cookie cutters, a couple of awesome wine glasses, and a nice china plate or two. (I'd recommend finding a frying Pan too if you do not have one).

You are set. You need:

A piece of toast
Butter
An egg
Orange juice

Ready?
Use the cookie cutter to cut the shape out of a piece of bread.
Butter both sides.
Preheat your frying Pam to a medium heat.
Melt a tab of butter.
Lay your bread and shape in the pan.
Crack your egg into the hole of the toast.
Fry the bread with the egg slowly.
When the whites begin to actually look white, flip both the egg and the shaped bread.
Finish cooking.

Place your creation on to your new china plate. Pour yourself some orange juice into your wine glass and enjoy!

Doing simple or boring things with a creative twist can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary!!!

Sunshine Makes You Happy

Many people get stuck in ruts in their lives. They get up, go to work or school, check facebook, visit with friends, eat, and sleep.
Stop!
At least once a week break out of your rutty shell like the Incredible Hulk.
Feel the sunshine on your face and smile.
Watch a sunrise.
Enjoy a sunset.
Turn off all electronics and technology and do your day differently. (don't freak out... If you do you are missing more of life then you realize!)

An old song says, "Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy."
Get outside, break your rut, and soak life in...

Tuesday Tickler

Facebook may seem like the ultimate way to communicate. It's fast, it's easy, and yes even your mother uses it now. Take the time to slow down before you post something.
People stalk you: friends, parents, employers, schoolmates. You have a chance to add positive and witty thoughts into someone's brain. Do not take it lightly.

Before you post: THINK
T- Is it true?
H- Is it helpful?
I- Will it inspire?
N- Is it necessary?
K- Is it Kind?

Make your Bed Each Day

This may seem like such a small thing. When you start your day by making your bed, you are taking the time to establish order. Nothing is more frustration is walking through a home that is a disaster. It is down right embarrassing. If you start your day by straightening your bed, you'll have a head start on the rest.
